There has been a large-scale security breach affecting one of BitMart’s ETH hot wallets and one of their BSC hot wallets today, December 5, 2021.
The methods used are still being investigated by BitMart at this moment.
Around 150 million USD worth of assets were withdrawn by hackers.
All of BitMart’s other wallets are safe and undamaged. Only ETH hot wallets and BSC hot wallets are affected. The security review is now underway, BitMart noted in their client alert notification.
They will report updates as they go along. Until further notice, withdrawals on BitMart will be temporarily suspended.
BitMart asked clients for calm “We beg for your kind understanding and patience in this situation.”
As they move forward, they will strive to maintain transparency.
