As these technologies will be at the forefront of driving culture, creativity, and entertainment in Los Angeles, AEG and Crypto.com will unveil the Crypto.com Arena on Christmas.
The deal includes Crypto.com Arena, L.A. LIVE, Microsoft Theater, The Novo, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the LA Kings, positioning the fastest growing crypto platform at the forefront of global sports and live entertainment for the next 20 years.
Crypto.com, one of the world’s fastest-growing cryptocurrency platforms, today announced a 20-year naming right agreement that will rename the STAPLES Center, owned and operated by AEG and one of the world’s most iconic sports and entertainment venues.
With effect from December 25, the multipurpose arena will be called Crypto.com Arena. It is home to the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers, the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, and the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks. By signing this agreement, Crypto.com becomes an official cryptocurrency platform partner of the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Kings.
On Christmas Day, the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets will play at the newly-named Crypto.com Arena. To signify the beginning of the partnership, AEG and Crypto.com will unveil the new logo and other brand assets, including internal arena signage. By June 2022, all external signage of the venue will be replaced.
AEG’s downtown Los Angeles arena opened its doors to the public in 1999, hosting some of the most memorable and prolific sports and entertainment events of the past two decades; through this partnership, AEG and Crypto.com will help shape the next two decades. It plays host to over 240 high-profile events each year, including professional sports, concerts, award shows, boxing, and other special events, including the GRAMMY Awards, NBA All-Star Games, and NHL All-Star Games. Additionally, 19 of the 21 GRAMMY Award shows in the last 21 years have featured some of the biggest names in music and live entertainment.
AEG Global Partnerships arranged this partnership, which places Crypto.com at the heart of several of the biggest and most important sports and live entertainment events over the next two decades. Crypto.com’s cryptocurrency platform and NFT marketplace have also gained a huge amount of popularity and influence worldwide.
As part of its first global campaign to introduce its platform to users, Crypto.com partnered with actor Matt Damon. Crypto.com’s global brand partnerships will include UFC, F1, Paris Saint-Germain, the NBA’s 76ers and NHL’s Montreal Canadiens, as well as esports team Fnatic, Lega Serie A, and Twitch Rivals. As the first cryptocurrency sponsor and NFT partner of F1 and UFC, Crypto.com continues to lead the industry in sports sponsorships. Since the beginning of this year, Crypto.com has partnered with an F1 team, an NHL team (Montreal Canadiens), and a professional sports league (Lega Serie A).
